Sustainable Singapore Blueprint 2015 coverThe annual Clean and Green Singapore held over the weekend saw the release of the Sustainable Singapore Blueprint 2015, which is revised and updated from the previous blueprint published in 2009.

The Sustainable Singapore Blueprint 2015 outlines our national vision and plans for a more liveable and sustainable Singapore, and is broadly divided into 3 key areas:

  1. A Liveable and Endearing Home
  2. A Vibrant and Sustainable City
  3. An Active and Gracious Community

A Liveable and Endearing Home

The blueprint highlights the efforts to create more sustainable housing estates, with new HDB flats having Pneumatic Waste Conveyance Systems, solar panels, centralised chutes for recyclables, rainwater harvesting, rooftop greenery, and elevator energy regeneration systems. Sustainable features will also be introduced to existing HDB estates through the HDB Greenprint programme. Read more

Conversations on Sustainable Singapore (Food Security) cover Together with Nature Society (Singapore) and SMU verts, Green Future Solutions co-organised 3 Conversations on Sustainable Singapore, with the objectives to understand people’s thoughts and stories, and to generate constructive and specific suggestions for the Sustainable Singapore Blueprint review conducted by the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR).

The Conversations on Sustainable Singapore were held over three sessions and focused on the following topics:

  • Energy and Climate Change
  • Waste and the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)
  • Food Security (Food Supply and Food Waste)

The third session of the Conversations on Sustainable Singapore: Food Security (Food Supply and Food Waste) was held on 24 May 2014. The discussions and suggestions during the session are compiled in the following report for submission to MEWR as potential inputs for the Sustainable Singapore Blueprint review, and also sent to the National Environment Agency (NEA) and Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) for their reference and consideration for action.

Together with Nature Society (Singapore) and SMU verts, Green Future Solutions co-organised 3 Conversations on Sustainable Singapore, with the objectives to understand people’s thoughts and stories, and to generate constructive and specific suggestions for the Sustainable Singapore Blueprint review conducted by the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR).

Conversations on Sustainable Singapore – Reading Materials

Together with Nature Society (Singapore) and SMU verts, Green Future Solutions co-organised 3 Conversations on Sustainable Singapore, with the objectives to understand people’s thoughts and stories, and to generate constructive and specific suggestions for the Sustainable Singapore Blueprint review conducted by the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR).

The Conversations on Sustainable Singapore are held over three sessions and focus on the following topics:

  • Energy and Climate Change
  • Waste and the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)
  • Food Security (Food Supply and Food Waste)

For each session, a 2-page reading material on the topic was sent to the participants before the session, so that they can read up on the topic and come prepared with suggestions.
